Principles

The Patient Safety Collaborative Principles

• Participation in the work of the Collaborative is entirely voluntary with the right to withdraw at any time.

• Participation is open to any individuals and organisations that are engaged in the provision or management of healthcare and to any individuals and or organisations whose work encompasses the field of patient safety.

• Deliberations must be conducted, and decisions made, by bodies and methods that reasonably represent all such parties, controlled or dominated by none.

• To respect the right to privacy and if requested, the right to anonymity. Any individually identifiable data must not be disclosed or disseminated to others without that individual’s consent.

• TPSC will only accept funding from individuals and other organisations on the strict understanding that such funding will be used at the sole discretion of TPSC and funding will be refused from any parties who seek to influence the workings of TPSC.

• TPSC will be designed and will function to enable and enhance community-based collaboration for improved patient safety.
